What changes to reach the limit
The compressor searches JPEG quality from high to low before it removes any pixels. If even the lowest useful quality is too large, it scales the image down in measured steps. Every result shows the final bytes, dimensions and quality, so a file that fits is not hiding how it got there.

Does resizing in KB change the pixel dimensions?
Not unless it has to. The tool lowers JPEG quality first and reduces width and height only when the requested file-size limit cannot be reached at full resolution.
Can I set both KB and pixel dimensions?
Yes. Enter a maximum width, height or both. The image keeps its proportions, is never enlarged, and may be reduced further if that is necessary to fit the KB ceiling.
Which files can I resize?
HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF and BMP are accepted. Re-encoded results are JPEG files; transparency becomes white and EXIF, including GPS data, is removed.
