Choose what to change
Join lines only when they belong to the same paragraph. Leave it off for addresses, poetry and deliberate line breaks. These repair rules skip marked code, LaTeX equations and Markdown table rows.
Keep the typography you want. Asterisk removal also affects multiplication, code and bullet markers.

These options can change meaningful text. Unicode normalization folds compatibility forms, such as Ｆ → F and ² → 2. Lookalike conversion replaces a limited set of Greek and Cyrillic letters with Latin; it is not transliteration.
Long-dash removal is on by default; turn it off to keep your punctuation. Ordinary hyphens, minus signs, numeric ranges, accents, emoji joiners and line breaks are preserved.

From a chat window to usable plain text
A non-breaking space can stop a line wrapping; a soft hyphen can appear in an unexpected place. Basic cleanup removes selected copy-and-paste artifacts while keeping your sentences and paragraph breaks. The same rules work on text copied from PDFs, emails and websites. No AI model is needed to apply them.
Choose formatting for the destination
Long dashes are removed by default, with spacing kept between words. Turn that rule off to retain them. Ordinary hyphens, minus signs and numeric ranges such as 10–12 are preserved. Quotes, ellipses and Markdown stay unchanged unless you select their rules. Asterisk cleanup removes every asterisk; it is not a full Markdown converter or a code repair tool. Links and backticks remain.
Review before you copy
Paste a passage and choose Clean text. Open the highlighted comparison to inspect removals and replacements, then copy the cleaned text or download a TXT file. Editing the input or changing an option clears the old result so that you cannot accidentally copy an outdated version.
Copy ChatGPT or Claude text into Word, Google Docs and Excel
Choose Word / Docs to turn pasted Markdown into headings, bold text, lists and tables. Review the formatted preview, then use Copy. In the Export menu, Copy plain text gives you readable text without Markdown markers. You can also copy a table for Excel or download a CSV. Images are not loaded, and equations remain text. Optional paragraph and list repairs help with unwanted line breaks; review them before copying.
Questions about cleaning text
Does this rewrite or humanize my text?
No. The cleaner applies the rules you select. It does not paraphrase sentences, detect AI authorship or remove statistical watermarks. Ordinary punctuation is not proof that text was written by AI.
Can I clean German or other languages?
Yes. Basic cleanup keeps accented letters and characters used to join emoji or shape words. Punctuation rules are optional. The advanced lookalike option can alter valid Greek or Cyrillic words, so leave it off for those scripts.
Is my text uploaded or saved?
No. Processing happens in this browser tab without analytics or third-party scripts. There is no account. This tool does not store pasted text or preferences; a fresh page starts with basic cleanup selected. You can explicitly save the result with Download .txt.
How much text can I paste?
Up to 200,000 Unicode code points per passage. Longer input is rejected without truncation. Split larger documents into sections. The highlighted view may group changes in long passages to keep review responsive.
